Total mentions rose 7.4% to 9,564, while GitHub Copilot posted its second straight double-digit decline and Windsurf extended its growth streak to four weeks.

The Tightest Top 4 We've Tracked

For the first time in our data, the top four tools are essentially tied. Bolt leads at 1,195, ChatGPT sits at 1,140, Claude at 1,124, and Cursor at 1,115. The spread between #1 and #4 is just 80 mentions — a margin so thin that a single viral Reddit thread could reshuffle the entire ranking.

What makes this cluster remarkable is that it formed from four different trajectories. Bolt grew 13.9% to defend its position. ChatGPT surged 13.8% to jump from #4 to #2. Claude continued its momentum with a 16.6% gain. And Cursor, last week's #2, posted the slowest growth at 5.0% — still positive, but enough to slip to #4.

The Anthropic ecosystem (Claude + Anthropic brand mentions) totals 1,893 mentions this week. OpenAI (ChatGPT + OpenAI brand) totals 2,156. Both ecosystems grew, but the convergence continues: Anthropic's SDK now sits at 44.9% of OpenAI's NPM download volume, up from 43.5% last week.

Windsurf's Fourth Week of Growth

At this trajectory, Windsurf could break 200 mentions next week — crossing from "emerging" to "notable" in our tracking.
